ABOUT TAMPERE BURLESQUE

Tampere Burlesque is a non-profit association that organizes burlesque events and provides classes and entertainment services in Pirkanmaa.

In Tampere there has been activity in burlesque scene since 2009 but official association was founded in 2016 by two performers and event producers from Tampere, Olivia Rouge and Stella Polaire.

In addition to organizing events, Tampere Burlesque offers entertainment services for event producers and companies. It also organizes workshops with both International and Finnish performers, and provides beginners classes and workshops about the different aspects of the art form,

such as stage presence, costuming, prop work and developing a solo act.

Since 2016 Tampere Burlesque has grown steadily, both in members, partners and organizing bigger events. This has been made possible by our supporting members and our active volunteers, who participate in event production. In addition to organizing our own events we’ve worked together with organizations like Tampere-talo, Nem Agency and Särkänniemi.

2021 Tampere Burlesque association received a grant from The Ministry of Education and Culture (OKM) which is meant to be used in the field of art and culture by communities that have been affected negatively by the corona pandemic and the resrictions due to the situation.

We also received an operating grand from the City of Tampere for year 2022.

Tampere Burlesque is constantly working towards building a more equal, diverse and inclusive burlesque scene in Finland. Our goal is to make participating in the scene possible for everyone interested in the art form, and we believe that a safer and more open scene will make that possible.
